Peter Rogers is the Founder of the Koba Ryu Karate System and holds the rank of Soke in Koba Ryu Karate. Mr. Rogers has recently been nominated for several Hall of Fame Awards. One being the World Head of Family Sokeship Council. Mr. Rogers has been involved in the Martial Arts for 39 years. Mr Rogers received the Life Time Achievement of Honor from the World Karate Union Hall of Fame. He currently is teaching at the Mohegan Sun Casino.  Mohegan Sun is the official sponsor of our National Karate Team. Krane Ratings International Hall of Fame Award Team of the Year. Koba Ryu is now being learned all around the world. Students training at the Casino from China, Brazil,Poland, Korea, etc. are learning the system and bringing it to their country’s.

He started his training in karate at the age of 12 and by the time he was 14 he was awarded his Junior Black Belt. In 1981 he was awarded his 5th Degree Black Belt by Master Rex Lee. In 1991 he was awarded his 6th degree Black Belt by Mr. Shin. His training included Korean Tae Kwon Do, Japanese Bojitsu, Japanese Shuri Ryu, Burmese Bando, Chinese KaJuKempo, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu and Professional American Boxing. He has trained with numerous people among those are Robert Fallonar, Tim Hautamaki, Harvey Hasting, Master Rex Lee and Robert Young, former Middle Weight Boxing Champion, losing his title to Sugar Ray Robinson. Over the years he has refereed many Karate Tournaments throughout the country and has been the Head Referee for the Rex Lee Grand Nationals in Miami, Florida.

His teaching experiences also began at a very young age. At 16 he was teaching a course in the gym class at Mt. Pleasant High School in Providence, RI. And has taught at the Griswold High School. He has also taught members of the House of Representatives in Rhode Island, various state, local and federal enforcement agencies, Select Security Guards and at the Y.M.C.A. and the Dolphin Cheerleaders during the Super bowl, Grace Jones, while on tour in Florida and numerous executives throughout the U.S.

He has put on a number of demonstrations, too many to mention, but they have included demos for Boys and Girl Scouts and various other groups. He has performed at the world-famous Fountain Bleu Hotel and the Marco Polo Hotel in Miami. Having lived in Providence, RI and Uncasville, CT all his life, Mr. Rogers has trained fighters in both areas.

Mr. Rogers has taught Karate in the New England area for over 39 years, and has trained and produced more winners in Open Competition, Point Fighting, Forms and Kick Boxing-to note:W.K.A. Welter Weight, Light Weight and Middle Weight Champions in each division. Also having trained North American Muay Thai, Super Welter Weight, Light Weight and Bantam Weight Champions.Trying to promote Karate in the best way possible, Mr. Rogers has hosted the best in the Karate Community, including Bill “Superfoot” Wallace, Tadashi Yamashita, Benny “The Jet” Urquidez and Olympic Gold Medallist Arlene Limas. Mr. Rogers promotes the Annual Mohegan Sun National Karate Championships, rated AAAAA by Krane and AA by NASKA. It is also one of the most prestigious tournaments on the KRANE circuit. Additionally, Mr. Rogers has been sanctioned by the World Karate Association (W.K.A. 1986), and Trainer for North American Muay Thai Association based in France and the World Karate Association.
